What's bothering you about your water?

Taste or smell

Chlorine taste and odor from city water are common, and a good filter takes care of them.

Spots and scale

White buildup on fixtures and spotty dishes often point to hard water — a softener or conditioner helps.

Safety concerns

If you're worried about something specific in your water, start with a test — especially on a private well. Then we'll match the treatment to the results.

HALO 5 and whole-home treatment

For Columbia-area city water, HALO 5 is one of the whole-home systems we install to reduce chlorine taste and odor at every tap. If hard-water scale is the issue, we'll explain the difference between a traditional salt-based softener and salt-free conditioning, so you can choose what fits your home and upkeep preferences. We'll show you the manufacturer's documented performance before you decide.

A few common questions.

What's the difference between a filter and a softener?

A filter removes specific things from your water — like chlorine taste and odor or sediment. A softener removes the minerals that cause hard-water spots and scale. Many homes benefit from one or the other; some want both. Your plumber will help you figure out which fits your goal.

Do I need a whole-house system?

Not necessarily. If you just want better-tasting drinking water, a filter at the kitchen sink may be all you need. Whole-home systems make sense when you want treated water at every tap, shower and appliance.

Is hard water unsafe to drink?

No. Hard water has more dissolved minerals, which cause scale and spots, but that's a separate question from safety. If you're worried about a specific contaminant, start with a water test — then we'll match treatment to the results.

How much does a water treatment system cost?

Your plumber gives you a firm installed price on site, based on the system and your plumbing. Our residential diagnostic fee is $89, waived when you go ahead with the work. Pay by cash, check or card, or ask your plumber to walk you through financing options.
